Aug 18 Scotland's North West Coast: the Beaches Edit

Here’s just a wee taster of some of the beautiful beaches up on the North West coast of Scotland…

Balnakeil Bay is truly stunning: a long arc of white sand with dunes rolling in behind and very shallow waters which are ideal for swimming. Seen in the right weather conditions, the water becomes almost translucent.

Scourie Bay is anther great spot-very sheltered.

Foxglove flurry. I stumbled upon this little area of coppiced wood and foxgloves were sprouting up everywhere- one of my favorite flowers and much loved by the bees too. They seem to pop up anywhere and everywhere.

I'm not too sure what this plant is- any plant enthusiasts know? But the bees absolutely love it- it's covered in them all day long.
