Dec 18 A Winter Study

Kent and Sussex

It's easy to fall into the mistake of viewing Winter as a season characterised by barren and muted landscapes with a lack of life or colour. The cold weather and darkening days can dull the creative spirit and yet Winter can be surprisingly colourful with little bursts of colour. Rustic reds,earthy hues and grey skies can combine to create some really beautiful shots.

Foxglove flurry. I stumbled upon this little area of coppiced wood and foxgloves were sprouting up everywhere- one of my favorite flowers and much loved by the bees too. They seem to pop up anywhere and everywhere.

I'm not too sure what this plant is- any plant enthusiasts know? But the bees absolutely love it- it's covered in them all day long.
