Winter Photography in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains

Life on the Edge in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains of Saxony Switzerland National Park

Trees are incredible. I was in awe of this solo Scots Pine tree which had managed to germinate and grow on the very edge of this steep rock face. With its trunk bending out into the ravine below, it looked as if it was performing a feat of gymnastics. With little soil and its being exposed to the elements, this tree is testament to the resilience of nature. It always finds a way.
